The previous information on kratom we had on our website is here, BUT - we have learned so much in the past few years working with kratom that we wanted to rewrite the kratom information page to be more accurate with our knowledge while dispelling the negativity it has garnered in many online searches. 

There are green strains of kratom, red strains of kratom, white strains of Kratom, and yellow or gold strains. What we know to be true about the naming of the strains is that a Meang Da kratom is like the grandfather of the plant, "pimp grade" mature and full of the alkaloids that give the effects most people seek. If it’s a red, it will be more pain relief and relaxation. A green gives you an overall feeling of wellness and energy to go about your day. A white is more for energy, focus, and endurance; a nootropic. The saying we’ve started to use to differentiate the strain effects is something Kendall came up with: 

White for flight
Red for bed
Green for in between 

Or 

Red is slow
Green is medium
White is fast 

Pretty easy for most folks to remember. There are also variations among the green strains, the white strains, and the red strains, but the effects of each can also depend on what brand you’re getting and if they make their own blends. Most do. People in severe pain - think back injury, car accident, cancer - traditionally seek the reds. People who have monkey minds and need to focus and who also like a good energy boost enjoy the whites. I personally favor the greens. I feel I get a solid coverage of all the things kratom is known to do: relieve pain, eliminate depression, elevate mood, boost energy. I also found that for me, personally, the green Maeng Da was best for opiate withdrawal symptoms and continued sobriety. Really, you cannot go wrong with any of them, provided you’re buying quality kratom. We always advise people that it’s great to sample the different strains to see which one works best for your specific needs, as we are all different and have different needs. It’s also a good idea to stay with the strain you find that works best for you until it’s time for a tolerance break, which we also recommend. But hey - a lot of us rely on kratom for continued sobriety, so when a strain doesn’t perform like we’re used to, switching up the strain for a bit can help make a difference in results. Tolerance breaks definitely help. When you find yourself having to continually increase your consumption, taking a week off from any consumption, or dialing it WAY back helps reduce the amount needed for maintenance.

Why we don’t have sales like other local shops do

Thus, we rarely have discounts or sales like San Antonio smoke shops. You see, San Antonio tobacco shops can quite often throw up a 20% coupon, and their prices will still be higher than our affordable kratom pricing. While we understand psychology, we just don’t want to play the game of raising our prices, then offering sales and discounts.
